Late Antiquity Article Contributions by Drs. Frakes & Vivian

Dr. Robert Frakes (Dean of Arts & Humanities at California State University, Bakersfield) and Dr. Tim Vivian (Professor of Religious Studies at California State University, Bakersfield) both contributed articles to the newly-published two-volume Oxford Dictionary of Late Antiquity (Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2018).

This two-volume work is the first comprehensive reference work covering all aspects of European, Mediterranean, and Near Eastern history, religions, and culture between the mid-3
rd and the mid-8th centuries AD. Frakes wrote five entries on “Antiochus Chuzon,” “Arcadius Charisius,” “Constantinus,” "legal education," and “courts of law, Roman.” Vivian surpassed that number by writing eleven entries, including “Aphu,” “Besa,” “Daniel of Scetis,” “John Colobus,” “Macarius of Tkow,” “Midday,” “Peter I,” “Pispir,” “Syncletica of Palestine,” “Virgins and Widows,” and “Zacharias of Sakha.”
