Congratulations to Dr. Rebecca Weller for earning a well-deserved promotion in the Art department!
Dr. Weller teaches Art History in the Department of Art. Completing her PhD in 2008 at the University of Delaware, she specializes in Modern Art, the History of Photography, and depictions of gender in art.
Dr. Weller has a forthcoming book called Los Angeles Looking that not only examines minimalist art made in LA in the 1960s, but specifically constructs a critical framework out of art theories and “LA-ness” (smog, freeways, plastics, etc.) through which to view the art.
If you like your Art History as blend of canonical art, social history, and popular culture with a just a splash of humor, sign up for one of Dr. Weller’s courses!
Bonjour! My name is Lena Taub Robles. I grew up in Puerto Rico and attended the University of Puerto Rico, where I received a B.A. in French. I obtained my Masters and PhD in French literature at University at Buffalo.
When I was in college, I studied abroad in a small medieval town in France called Angers. I also spent two years in Paris, where I taught English at the University of Paris - Denis Diderot. I loved discovering French films and music, getting lost in the city, and eating fromage and croissants!
I’m very excited to join CSUB this year. I will be coordinating the French program and assisting students interested in learning French. I look forward to getting to know many of you!
This event is free and open to the public.
