Dr. Steven Frye (Professor of English) presented a lecture entitled “Naturalism and the Literature of the American West” at the American Literary Naturalism and its Descendants Symposium at the University of Iceland, Reykjavík.

Art Professor Sarah Vanderlip's ART 3300: Sculpture class created interesting pieces for their site-specific assignment.
The Dia de los Muertos commemoration was put on by MLL students in SPAN 3370: Food in the Latino Experience. It was a class assignment to present their interpretation of an "altar" display demonstrating their understanding of the significance of Day of the Dead. The event also included participation by student groups M.E.Ch.A., U.N.I.R., and the Student Art Society. They also had traditional pan dulce (sweet breads) and hot chocolate, along with activities for students (sugar skull painting, papel picado, and loteria).
