You may have noticed a new sculpture in the courtyard area in front of the HOB. The sculpture was created by Juan Ochoa, in his ART 4300 - Advanced Studio Topics 3D. He is a second year transfer student and is currently a senior in Art Education.
Juan talked about his work in this statement:
"The bricks are hand built adobe bricks made from dirt found on campus. The sculpture is inspired by Tibetan prayer monuments. The flags were also hand sewn. As the flags begin to fade and become tattered it is believed that the prayers will be answered. The flags are made to represent the LGBT+ community. Shown are the flags for gay/lesbian, bisexual, transgender, polysexual, asexual, straight, gender queer, intersex, and pansexual."
