Congratulations to Erin Barker (Philosophy senior), Josh Lofy (Physics & Mathematics senior), Pedro Naveiras (Philosophy & Political Science senior), and Travis Rosenlieb (Philosophy senior)! They won the California Regional Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl and will compete at the National Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl in Reston, Virginia which will be held on February 21, 2016. Dr. Debra Jackson (Associate Professor of Philosophy) served as the director for the team and gives us a snapshot of the competition they were up against.
"In the first round in San Jose, the four members of the team, Erin Barker, Josh Lofy, Pedro Naveiras, and Travis Rosenlieb, posted wins over UC-Santa Cruz and Santa Barbara City College and tied Cal Poly Pomona. The team then secured the title with wins over UC-Santa Barbara in the semifinals and their hosts, San Jose State, in the finals.
